Regime Change? I Dunno
I have a bad feeling about this.
Who is going to take the place of the mullahs?
Iran doesn’t have a bench. Probably the best thing would be if a group of sober military men took over… but they would be Iranian nationalists, and not compliant puppets of the US. They’d also have the legitimacy that the mullahs lack, and would rebuild Iran’s nuclear and conventional capabilities as soon as they could. They would never be pro-American or pro-Israel. Anyone who thinks that is living in fantasyland.
Really, the best thing from our perspective is a prolonged civil war leading to a shrunken Persian core state. Who cares about Iran? Not me.
And forget about that fake monarch, Reza Shah Pahlavi, or Shah Reza Pahlavi. He’s a X-phenomenon. A fraud.
