Israel Gets Shafted
Guys, I’m really out of words.
I try not to comment on big stuff like Iran because the subject defeats me and what will be will be, so why not talk about Caitlin Clark and the latest Marilyn Monroe suicide theory? Also: DJT’s tweets don’t help.
I ignore them. But I can’t ignore this.

I’m not linking to it because the author barked at me over nothing on X and I don’t like him. But I do read the free version of his ‘Stack and I think he gets quite a lot right from a critical of Israel viewpoint. I think he gets it right here. This agreement is horrible for Israel.
It’s not just this guy. It’s the consensus and for once, I go with the rest.
The pro-Israel London-based Pakistani “Natsec Jeff” is inconsolable. I often minimize his emotions, but not here, not now. He’s been tweeting and retweeting like a machine since yesterday about the agreement. He thinks it’s a disaster.
He retweeted Tom Nichols. I rarely agree with this guy but credit where it’s due.
So what’s going on? Here’s my take. Nothing particularly creative.
One, I honestly think Trump hates Bibi with a passion and enjoys stabbing him in the groin, in public. I gave ample evidence of that here.
Two, Trump had no idea what a real war entails, and that talking about regime change in Iran is easier than doing it. From the moment this whole thing began I had a sick feeling that something would go wrong. You don’t win a war by bombing. You win a war by… winning a war - that includes invading a place, crushing its rulers, and occupying it. We were never going to do that.
By the way, about regime change solving everything. Not true. A former reader was very belligerent with me about this. He was the kind of smart guy whose knowledge was used in the service of stupidity - the worst kind of smartass. I had to block him. “There could be nothing worse than the IRCG.”
Bullshit. There’s always something worse, and if any country is capable of coming up with it, it’s Iran. A junta of rational military men, seething with Persian pride, is worse than the current setup.
It’s not true that Trump has no staying power and loses interest in things quickly. There are things he’s very interested in — the border, immigration, DEI — and he’s focused on that relentlessly. Other stuff, not so much. He didn’t have what it takes to be a war leader. Very few do. A bad war is worse than none at all. It gets you bad deals like this.
Managing the conflict isn’t the worst thing you can do.
Do you remember the time Trump addressed the Knesset and said all that stuff about Miriam Adelson, and the idiots nodded their heads and thought it was all love and roses? I can’t believe how stupid people are.
This was a comedy roast. He was saying: “Fuck you. Your time is past. I’m gonna stick in the shiv in at the right time. I don’t care about your money. I’ve got it. Who else do you have — the Democratic Socialists of America NuDemokrat(tm) Party?”
How dumb can people be?
He told the truth - a truth that had to be exposed sooner or later. Jewish influence on American policy is genuine and as far as he was concerned, had to be restrained. So he exposed it and went on his merry way.
When a politician tells the truth - in public - that’s war. He was saying: “I’ve exposed you as manipulators and you have no power over me.”
This MOU is the proof of that. Israel got shafted.
I voted for Trump as an American and I’m not sorry for that. The other option was unthinkable.
An Israeli woman once said to me: “You can’t play with the cards you don’t have.”
If we’d elected Kamala, there would be no United States. Not in five years. Right now. This very minute. That’s a card I wasn’t willing to throw away.
Trump secured the border, he’s shifted the Overton window on DEI which has had real world downstream effects on practically everything, he’s tossing out creeps who should never have been here, and a bunch of other great things.
But this agreement is awful.
Israel will just have to soldier on.
Surely it can come up with someone better than Bibi Netanyahu. He’s a disaster.
