Comment on Eliza Mondgreen’s excellent Substack, Writing Behavior:
I wonder if the trans mania can be compared to addiction. In the case of addiction, a few people who are prone to being addicted to a substance will fall prey to it. Then it will gradually spread outwards in concentric circles to ensnare more & more people until the effect wanes.
This is where government and authority comes in. The government has a duty to stop this spread, and no, that's not prohibition. It's regulation. Everything is regulated. We don't sell alcohol to minors.
Read about the Opium Wars. Under the guise of "free trade" the US and Britain forced China to open up its ports to Western goods. One of those goods was opium. Eventually a third of the country was addicted.
Just a thought.
How China got people off junk is an interesting story. It’s a horrible irony that much of the fentanyl scourging America comes from China.
In early March, Israel set up a field hospital in Western Ukraine. It was shut down six weeks later because most of the patients weren’t refugees, just local people who preferred the quality to their own miserable facilities.
Hm. Strikes me Israel could have continued as a gesture of good will to a besieged country but I don’t make the rules.
I’ve read that Ukraine’s medical services are lousy. You’d think that in the last 14 years of NATO colonization we’d have done something about that. Nope, when Uncle Sam comes to town, all you get is stuffed full of weapons. (Not to mention, bio-weapons research labs!) Overpriced crap, too.
Oh yeah, the government in Israel fell like a bicycle ridden by an old guy with rickety legs and bad balance.
If Bibi is (re)-elected in October, it will be… interesting. He always got along real well with Putin. At that point the Russians will have taken over the Donbass—but you never know:
So foul a sky clears not without a storm.
Pour down thy weather: how goes all in France?
China and Iraq signed a deal to build 1000 schools in Iraq. They should name each school after every kid killed by a US bomb.
