For what it’s worth, the weather underground and its days of rage are born of the same DNA as the intifada - I’m glad to see we agree… and I’m horrified to see what we agree about.
Why did you say that Wesley LePatner's murder was part of the current "Intifada" - which I do not agree we're in, but that's another argument for another time.
Wesley LePatner - along with three other people - was killed by a crazy guy who thought that the NFL was the cause of his brain disorder. He went to confront the supposed source of his suffering - the NFL - and poor Wesley was cowering behind a pillar when she was murdered randomly. Randomly in the sense that Tamura the killer didn't really single her out. He had no idea what her background was.
Why would you mention her name and not the others? Don't they matter?
Her death symbolized nothing other than the intersection of an imagined grievance, a gun, and a very sick man.
Even if I did believe that the US was in a state of "intifada" (which I don't) this would be a poor example of it. Even random murders can happen in intifadas.
Also: No one celebrated Tamura's spree. It was too-quickly forgotten but I cannot remember *anyone* celebrating this.
or the based-on-true-events movie about Germany’s Red Army Faction, the Baader-Meinhof Gang. It’s rated R and glamorizes these terrorists a bit but is worth your time

Because the killings are all emanating from the same ideological rot… and are being received in the same celebratory way.
