I’m tired.
I had several draining, unproductive interactions on Substack Notes yesterday. It can be as bad as X. I was foolish enough to engage and afterwards felt ambushed, made worse by the fact that I participated in my own ambushing.
The rancor about the hostage deal is truly getting to me.
People screeching at the top of their lungs, bringing in ridiculous comparisons (World War II, as if Israel is a superpower), ignoring the fact that most of the hostages were defenseless — among them, two babies. (Yes, including the soldiers, as I’ve said. They were not conditioned to think they were in an active war zone, or supported that way, i.e., they were defenseless.)
In no way is this comparable on a moral plane to the disastrous Shalit/Jibril deals. Would these jerks have the Bibas children grow up in Gaza? (If they’re alive, praying to God.)
I’ll be back. But I have to disengage and regulate.
