Thank you very much for articulating this:

“Tucker Carlson’s friendship with Vance is important.” / “If Vance doesn’t disengage himself from Carlson—and I personally believe he won’t, they are too close—it spells the death knell of the “MAGA” movement.”

My thoughts exactly.

I’m ironically glad to discover that others have pondered the implications of Vance and Carlson’s association, which if continued - in the eventuality of a Vance Presidency - would go much farther than MAGA alone.

As to the motivations of bottom-feeders Carlson and Owens?

I believe that financial compensation is far (vastly) secondary to factors such as ideology and power, and an exultation in (and of) the irrational.

Thank you. I don't think many others have thought of the implications. You can bet that they'll be pondering it on the left - and pounding away at it.

I agree w/you about Carlson and Owens's motivations. It's not money - it's passionate hate (for everything but especially Jews) in the case of Owens and lust for power in the case of Carlson.

Owens could have made just as much money by being a little bit more clever about Brigitte Macron - instead she staked everything on the veracity of a psychic.

I'm a medical Doctor in the UK. My 13yr old (British) grand-daughter showed me a tiktok video taken by someone who was very near to Mr Kirk when the round struck him in the neck and disrupted major arteries. The force of the impact created obvious whiplash and exsanguination. The high density of vital structures in the neck and the ballistic shock would have caused secondary damage to the trachea, oesophagus, carotid and vertebral arteries, cervical spine and spinal cord, phrenic nerve and brachial plexus. I was sickened by what I witnessed and even more sickened that my grand-daughter had access to this material on her phone. However, the most sickening thing was that when I questioned her I realised that she believed that he was a bad man and she actually said, and I quote, "he had it coming..." Yet to look at her you would not believe that butter would melt in her mouth! I experienced dread and shock when I understood that this child's mind has been corrupted and polluted by evil, predatory, left wing political activists right under our noses via social media and misguided peer pressure. Apparently, all the other little boys and girls in her year group were of the same opinion. I blame the political left and entitled sanctimonious woke activists for poisoning the mind of the shooter and my beautiful little girl. She is not a monster but somehow the monsters had got inside of her and tainted her soul. I grieve for her and for Mr Kirk and his family, but unlike Mrs Kirk I will never forgive any of them, never forget & will always despise them and what they stand for. I don't blame the guns, or the mobile phones. I blame toxic ideology.

Talk with her. It's not too late.

Vance is a little scary.

A little?

Maybe I should do a post about him and Tucker Carlson.

Are you aware of the direction Carlson has taken in the last year? (Maybe longer.)

Your dots are not so easily connected, I think, and you overestimate trash like Owen, albeit understandably. And while Tucker has seriously blotted his copybook, Vance is political enough -and there is time enough- to put space between them. Decades of Democrat rule gave us Weimar America; a backlash is inevitable. But the Right can still police itself; the Left simply cannot.

We shall see about the first - and the second.

Agree with you about the Left - it's hopeless.

This is the great test: can the right police itself?

Our future depends on it.
