True Confession
I decided to start this Substack because of Ukraine. I needed to get stuff off my chest and why not - it costs nothing but time, and although my time is dwindling fast, that, I got.
I started out with two readers, both of whom have unfollowed me for different reasons. After October 7, I needed to vent about Israel - I was seething. One “un-follower” (a big name now) thinks Israel is a terrorist state. OK. Bye. The other unfollowed me because I’m too critical of Israel. OK. Bye.
But you develop bad habits. One is to pull punches as you gather readers. That’s not my concern here. Today, I’ll focus on the other bad habit: the tendency to pontificate, to become grandiose, to present yourself as a shiny finished project with no internal contradictions, sharp edges, and dissonances. To pretend that you’re an influencer, a seer, and an all around Big Shot.
I don’t do that. I’m just an increasingly creaky work-in-progress with contradictions, sharp edges, and dissonances, and also, I’m a nobody. I have zero predictive powers. I can’t even predict the past! I have one minor talent: I see things clearly, and I’m honest. Up to a point. Yes, I have pulled punches. But not now.
The groypers are having a moment. If you don’t know who they are, stop reading me and do some research. I won’t clutter up this piece by describing them; that’s what links are for.
Groypers don’t have a coherent philosophy, they’re a bundle of grievances, moans, and screeches, which I’ll call “groyperness.” One of their loudest screeches is “We fought World War Two for nothing.” This is actually a moderate groyper grievance. The Darryl Cooper faction1 doesn’t think WW2 was a mistake; they think we fought on the wrong side.2
When I saw that Candace Owens sat down with “Myron Gaines” for an intimate chat, I thought: “We fought WW2 for nothing.” Yep, I did.
As I’ve been saying recently, in the new world where Carlsonish has replaced English, nothing makes sense.
It is futile to expose his contradictions in depth, so I’ll simply state the main one: Amrou Fudl (his real name) is a black man who loves Hitler. That’s the key to his diseased persona. He and Owens, a black woman, are tight on the “JQ” — the Jewish question, in groyper-speak.
What jumped out at me was learning was born in the US to Sudanese parents. Sudanese? How the fuck did Sudanese come to the US? The same way that every other benighted non-Western group came here, until waltzing over the border became quite the thing: legally, under the 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act.
Or perhaps his parents found their way here as students and had an anchor baby, also legal, under a warped interpretation of the 14th Amendment, which was meant to legalize the status of freedmen and women, and got twisted into birthright citizenship.
This country is now full of Amrou Fudls and people like Aber Kawas.
This is the world the ADL welcomed3. A world in which the US would become unrecognizable in two generations, whose natives would feel strangers in their own land.
Why did my father serve in the US Army for three-and-a-half years?
I’m wondering.
“What choice did we have, the Japanese attacked us, we declared war on them, Germany declared war on us….”
Yes, that’s all true. You can’t rewrite the past, and I am not going into speculative weeds about what FDR could have done differently in the 1930s.
I’m simply saying I’m wondering what was the point of that smashing victory if you invite into your home massive numbers of people who loathe your very existence? And why did the ADL actively participate in this, and support it — even now??
Am I allowed to wonder this? To ask? Because maybe, if we do ask these questions, we can stop digging and salvage what’s left. I don’t believe it’s too late. Where there’s life, there’s hope.
Because I do wonder this. I look at the picture of my father in his uniform and it makes me want to weep. He fought for this. A country that invites people in who loathe him and who would spit on his grave.
And yes, I’m fully aware of the implication: maybe groypers aren’t wrong about everything, and that’s the reason for their appeal.
I said it and I’m not going to retract it.
The other implication is: you’re a bigot. Go ahead, say it. I don’t care. I’m not even bothering to refute that.
Also: I’m totally aware that Fudl is a joke and a fool, and if a true nativist wave washed over white America, he’d be toast. I get that.
I’m simply saying I don’t want him or his kind here. Or Aber Kawas.
But they are here, and the ADL welcomed the very demographic changes that will make the lives of white people, and Jews in particular, very difficult.
Are you surprised that I link whites with Jews? It’s the same, but Jews are super-whites, and uniquely vulnerable. This is not classic antisemitism: singling out Jews as Jews. It’s antiwhitism.
We’re first, you’re next. Amrou Fudl isn’t really a groyper—he’s a Third Worldist LARPing as one.
Remember: when the language is Carlsonish, anything goes.
OK, I’m rambling. Let’s wrap up.
I’m sick. Because I think the US was destroyed by the 1965 Immigration Act. The good people who came could have been admitted under an intelligently restrictive program.
And just because groypers say the same thing doesn’t make me feel it less.
It just makes it sting more.
Under the protection of a previous screen name he wrote, “The Holocaust was awesome!”
I may be slightly distorting Coopers POV but I don’t care. That’s his basic stance.
I’m using the ADL as a synecdoche for the entire liberal American Jewish establishment. And I’m singling out the Jewish establishment because they should have seen this coming. They were only one part of a whole; but they should have known. And this should be a time of reckoning for them, but they are obdurate. They are like junkies. They’ll go down with their dope.

Don't pull your punches, Diana. I'll stick with ya. You can ask my wife if you don't believe me.
"...what was the point of that smashing victory if you invite into your home massive numbers of people who loathe your very existence? And why did the ADL actively participate in this, and support it — even now??"
I need to look up the essays where people describe this pointedly and concisely, but the liberal Jewish establishment took the wrong lesson from the Shoah. We looked for the universal, humanist lessons and found a narrative that said allowing all "oppressed" or "huddled masses" into the USA was the preventative measure for future Holocausts.
