As An American
In the middle of writing Part II of Becoming Candace I just learned of this.
This is not a tragic mishap. The IAF is the one functional part left of Israel’s military. They don’t make mistakes like this — twice.
Ben B@dejo is a nutcase who thinks he can tell Netanyahu what to do. He also gives bad legal advice, some of which I was dumb enough to listen to - up to a point. He confidently predicted that by this time Mahmoud Khalil would be deported. Khalil is still here. That, I never believed. Badejo cited legal reasoning behind deporting Khalil that I was too hesitant to call out. I call it out here. It was shit.
Speaking of shit, it will hit the fan and no amount of denial will change that.
Remember when “Gaza Starvation” flared up? It was after July 16th, 2025.
Why do you think that happened? On July 16, 2025, the IAF bombed the Syrian Defense Ministry. The ostensible reason was to protect the Syrian Druzes. On cue, pro-Israel Substack erupted with stupid Holocaust analogies. It was just another tribal beef. All that stuff is in the rear view mirror now.
The bombing was against American policy, which is to create a strong Syrian state against Turkish and Russian encroachment. All of a sudden, the Gaza starvation story was on the front pages and Israel had to cave.
Think that was an accident? Of course not.
I don’t know what’s going to happen now. Trump’s playbook is back door sabotage, but this is such an outrage even he might discipline Netanyahu publicly.
I’ve been very hit or miss about my feelings so I’ll just say them here and now.
Get the hostages back. Bring them home. Conclude this war, which will only bring more death to IDF soldiers and Gaza civilians for no reason. Hamas will never be destroyed by a conventional war.
The only person who can restrain Netanyahu is Trump. He has no effective domestic opposition and international opinion not only means nothing to him, he welcomes the hate. More hate brings him more Jews, who flee the Jew-hatred his policies inevitably whip up among low-IQ people.
Yes, I said it. Netanyahu’s policies inflame Jew-hatred. They don’t cause it. They inflame it.
There’s nothing he would love more than for America to turn against its Jews and for three million American Jews to move to Israel. He doesn’t care about American Jewish political leverage. He knows that the Evangelicals are his firewall. He doesn’t care about American Jews. He despises the weak, cowardly, assimilationist among us - most of us. He’ll take the others.
Netanyahu has literally no brakes on his power. Absolute power corrupts.
I can no longer restrain myself from saying this.
Netanyahu is willingly bringing down a “Wall Of Hatred”1 on the Jews.
He must be stopped.
If the only way to do that is for me to signal my discontent by a crappy little Substack post, so be it.
This pic is part of an answer to a comment.
I take the phrase from Norman Cantor’s controversial The Sacred Chain. When it was published in 1994, the book was rightly criticized for its errors, and unfairly criticized for excusing antisemitism. The chapter “The Wall of Hatred” is worth reading.

How is a strong Syrian state going to protect against Turkish encroachment? The new Syrian leader was backed by Turkey and is a puppet of Erdogan. A strong Syria means a stronger Turkey in the region.
